Joan graduated from UCC where she was a tutor of mathematics before she began her career as a maths teacher at second level.
She has been associated with Ashfield College for many years and has vast experience at Leaving Certificate at all levels, with both teaching and being an assistant examiner for the Department of Education.
Her aim is for Maths to be an enjoyable and accessible subject to all where confidence is developed through guidance and explanation. Past difficulties can be erased with a newfound interest in maths and her aim is to pass on her love of the subject.
Joan has taught many revision courses in many institutes over the years. She participated actively in the introduction of Project Maths and has been a supervisor assigned to new maths teachers.
Active participation in the Maths Teachers Association during her career aids hugely in guiding her students to attain very high grades.
