Leaving Certificate English can be studied as a one or two year programme as a full-time day school student.

Leaving Certificate economics provides students with the knowledge to critically analyse a situation. Students will also gain an awareness of literature in todays world.  Students will also enhance their cultural awareness.

Jennifer is an exceptionally popular and effective teacher who has taught both Geography and English at Ashfield College for over five years. She is passionate about her subjects, and has a gift for inspiring her students. She recognises the importance of the English language and the skills associated with it, not only as part of the Leaving Certificate syllabus for the subject itself, but across all other subjects also, especially now that such emphasis is placed on literacy in education.

Subjects: English (Ordinary), History & Classical Studies

John has over 25 years’ experience of teaching and management in both Ireland and England. He has been an Assistant Examiner for the Leaving Certificate for several years and is the published author of Leaving Cert exam strategy articles in Education Supplements in the National Press.

English is divided into two papers. Paper 1 consists of 3 general comprehension texts and composition essays. Paper 2 consists of poetry essays, comparative essays and Shakespearian essays.
